Jason and Medea
The story of Jason's quest for the golden fleece and his relationship with Medea is told in the following texts: Apollonius' Argonautica tells of the Jason's quest for the Golden Fleece, Euripides' play Medea tells of the dissolution of Medea and Jason's relationship and her revenge, Ovid tells the entire story in Book 7 of the Metamorphoses (through Medea's arrival in Athens), and finally, Ovid's Heroides XII is a letter from Medea to Jason. The dates of these texts range from the mid fifth century BC (Euripides) to the first century CE (Ovid).
